Hello All,

Could you please help me find issue definition:

I have acer 2920, Bios=1.14, Video=X3100 UID=2a02, OSX=10.8.5. Note that it's recognizing video as GMA950 when using no video kexts, but it's "luggish".

When i'm trying to install any X3100 X64 kext upon boot my screen slowly goes white, starting from corners of screen and fills untill whole display is not white.

I've tried Bios Update, DSDT from windows from AIDA64, different Kext files.

Can anyone suggest on how to diagnose this problem in more deep ?

Attached are images on what is going on:

X3100 is officially supported only with 32-bit. (eg. 32-bit Lion or 32-bit SL).

Hm, thanks. This leads to other question then - in order for x32 kexts to work i need to boot with flag arch=i386 .

When i do this i'm getting:

Loading Darwin 10.8
Loading kernel cache /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/kernelCache
Reading HFS+ file: [hd(0,2)/System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/kernelCache] 4096 bytes.
Can't find

What version of OS X?

I have OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5 installed.

What is even odd'er is that i'm able to boot normally once in 20 boot cycles and i see that kext's are loaded. What can cause those "screen freezing".

P.S. Kexts for video that are loaded:
com.apple.driver.AppleIntelGMA3100FB(6.0.6)
com.apple.driver.AppleIntelGMAX3100(6.0.6)

The only drivers for ML X3100 are beta drivers. Bugs are expected with betas.

Yes. But can I somehow see boot or some other logs ? To compare what was different between succesfull and unsuccessful boot.
