About this Mac , Lion i7 2600k

Hello,
hoping for some suggestions here....
about this mac, incorrectly displays processor/ram info
1 core only shows in activity monitor
actually IS running on 4 cores,8 threads tho
A good install w/multibeast 4.1, I would really like to fix the activity/about this mac tho

Any thoughts?

8 gig kinston 1600
apple 5870

1 core only shows in activity monitor

If you only have 4 threads (ex: Core2Duo), all 4 are displayed in Activity Monitor.

If you have 8 threads, only a single box is displayed. Double-click it. You'll see all 8.

geek bench uses all 8, OS X apps seem to only use 4?
mac pro 4.1 or 5.1 definitions cause K panic.....

Stick with MacPro 3,1

Yes, during normal operations only 4 threads used. Once you're doing heavy duty stuff, all 8 threads lit up. ex: dvd rip and convert
