I read that we cannot use intel SSD because of something called TRIMM option not available. How true is that and can we actually use intel SSD ?

Thanks,
Pradeep.

You can use any make/model of SSD with OS X. Trim is available as an option in MultiBeast if required. There is also another free trim app available for Mac online:

Spoilt for choice almost:D

A Quality CheapoMac build for under 300 USD ~ Gigabyte H81M-H Motherboard

For all you bargain basement budget builders out there. (say that 3x fast)

The H81M-H is again on sale for a low $44.99 after a 10 dollar rebate. If you can
accept all the limitations it has for future expandability it's a good 1st build
motherboard, Very easy to get OS X running on it with an I3-4330 or I3-4340 cpu. As the
picture shows you'll only have the option of an onboard HDMI connection if you
don't have a discrete graphics card.

Rebate offer ends on April 30th 2014 The rebate offer now goes through May 31st.
Opportunity knocks twice.

Hi.

Has anyone built one the H81M motherboard hackintoshes?

Are they working out?

And if I make it and get this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119274

[As listed in the first post]

I don't need another power supply or fan do I?

The case is supplied with out a PSU - the maximum dimensions are supplied for the depth of a PSU that will fit the case. When using Haswell hardware it is best to get a good quality PSU like a basic Corsair CX430/CX500 depending on what power requirements that you might need it planning to add a GPU in the future.

Read through this thread: http://www.tonymacx86.com/buying-ad...ll-build-how-low-can-you-go-6.html#post718464

The Rosewill case/psu option is one way you can go. Neither is as high quality as the CM 200
and Corsair CX-430 that I recommended in this thread. I've done a build with the H81M-HD3
model and everything works, it's got a lot of features and build quality of boards that
cost 50-100 dollars more. Just remember you'll have a ram limit of 16 GB and 4 Sata ports.

Thank you.

I understand your recommendation but I'm trying to shave the cost down. The Rosewill case does have a PSU but it doesn't have USB 3.0 and only has 2 USB ports. I'll need two plugged one constantly. One for an external hard drive and one for a WIFI usb adapter I already own. So I need at least two more in case I want to plug in a flash drive and one goes kaput for some reason.

So I'm thinking of getting this case and it also comes with a PSU http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FZWBR8M/

My only concern is that the PSU is 500W and the Corsair ones are 550W.

Does that make a difference?

Edit: I'm not sure this is the right case for this build/mobo?
