6870 "DVI NO SIGNAL" on x16 slot

Hey guys so finally got my gigabyte z68xp ud5 mobo and installed everything fine but when i start it up, it does not get detected by my monitor.

And it is weird because it works on the second slot which is pciex16(x8). I know the slot is not bad because tried an 8800gt on the 1st slot and it works.

My mobo has 3 pcie slots. x16, x8 and x4.

I tried re seating, updated my bios firmware, used different dvi cable.

I got the xfx 1gb 6870 with dual fans.

Anyone encountered this problem? Thinking of just RMA'ing it.

I just don't get why it does not work on the first slot..

I tried resetting bios too and settings on bios is to initiate pcie x16 first.

use the main DVI port (the top one) because the second DVI port (the lower one) will not work if you have chose 64 bit apple boot screen or 32 bit apple boot screen.
it will only work if you choose 64 bit graphicsenabler=no and 32 bit graphicsenabler=no but those two settings will make geekbench, dvd player, and other apps crash

Just to clarify, I haven't even installed any OS yet.

Also, yes I am using the top DVI port.

I don't know what is wrong
