5600 XT not compatible ?

I have been browsing the list of graphic cards and golden build threads..

I haven't seen any so far, is it compatible ?

You have to be running 15.2 Catalina for any of the new 5000 cards and you might need a boot argument find the posts in the Graphic related subforum never the bottom.

sounds complicated, as very new to all of this, maybe i'll stick to buying a RX 580 instead of a RX 5600XT, it will be simpler to install

Yes RX580 is simpler to install. However, adding a boot argument is fairly simple and installing the latest version of MacOs is fairly straight forward.

Not sure what issues with Catalina you speak of I have no problems with it been running it release.

what about RX 5700 XT ? is it supported by Mojave ?

no, all Navi cards require Catalina 10.15.2 or newer.
