(FIXED) 4530s have to use -f to load

Have to use -f to load. I have followed the guide, made sure the ahci patch was checked. Still can't boot without using -f flag. Shows the circle with cross. Tried downgrading to f20 bios, same results. Last thing I see loading is

VoodooPS2 Trackpad starting: Synaptics TouchPad reports type 0x47, version 7.5
Still waiting for root device

Any ideas what I have done wrong ???

UPDATE: Fixed by selected AHCI 3rd party kext on ProBook Installer

I think we have the same situation. My model is 4230s.

search for the manual applying ahci patch

This is a newbie question, but what flags are available and how does one use them to boot?

I used the patch here http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-probook/61504-hp-probook-4530s-mountain-lion-process-10.html , still not booting without -f flag on chimera boot.

I don't see any AHCI patch there... And that is a really old thread... not recommended.

See this link for AHCI patch:
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/to...n-kernel-cache-used-only-with-some-disks-fix/

You may need longer than 200ms. To apply the patch using the script, you will have to restore your IOAHCIBlockStorage to vanilla. You will see a backup in the folder: /System/Library/Extensions/IOAHCIFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/IOAHCIBlockStorage.kext/Contents/MacOS
