4.2ghz

Hey all

During MB installation I ticked the box for sandybridge overclocked i7 support as there was no box for ivybridge., My pc is overclocked in bios to 4.5ghz but osx ML is only seeing 4.2ghz because i installed the SB option. Is there anyway to increase my overclock speed? or change the SSDT.aml?

where are you getting the 4.2ghz number? about this mac?
if so, thats just cosmetic.
test with msrdumper to see if you are reaching the higher speed. can also use geekbench at the different overclock speeds. if you see a difference in score, you know its working properly

Thanks for pointing out about thread

I get that figure from hardware monitor on menu bar. When I run geekbench the monitor said 4.2ghz

Also, I noticed when i opened the SSDT.aml with text editor, it said.

i read somewhere that users had issues with their ML booting after deletion of the SSDT.aml

i done as you said and it brought my turbo clock to 4.5ghz
