I've been tossing this idea around for a while and forgot about it, but since then I've purchased a 3D printer and got to work. I need as much cooling as I can possibly get in this G4, so I designed a CD-ROM bay vent to prop the OEM door open to allow airflow into the case. It makes the case look like someone had just hit the eject button on the drive bay. The vent is held in place by the OEM spring drive door, no glue or anything like that, and the metal drive bay is not needed either (I removed mine to make room for a 280mm AIO), it just sits in the lip of the molded plastic of the OEM panel.
