2 Questions - Windows 8 and Mavericks

Hey y'all!

I have 2 questions:

1. Can i install osx Mavericks on the same hard drive, in another partition, and keep the original windows 8 "partition" ?

2. If this is possible, then can i delete Mavericks safely? (if i want to, i don't think so, but just )
