Hi !

I just noticed that my gtx 1080 ti fans don't spin
I don't know how long this has been going on....
I checked while running Valley (for example), which brings the GPU temp up (over 60°C) and they still idle.

I have the latest FakeSMC and sensors installed (6.26-322-g1b20eab7.1765) (ACPI, CPU, GPU, LPC).

I tried with the kext installed in the EFI, and then in S/L/E (permissions/cache rebuilt) (and removed from the EFI).

When I moved the extensions to S/L/E and rebuilt the cache, the fans suddenly started spinning at 100% (from the noise they made, I can't read the fan speed in HW sensors (don't know why)). But when I rebooted they went back to 0%.

I have a maximus IX Hero board with a 7700k and the latest nvidia drivers (378.10.10.10.20.107).
I also have a custon SSDT made with ssdtPRGen.sh.

any idea why this is happening ?

thanks !

I got MSI gaming x1070 and they only spin once they reach i think at 65degrees. FakeSMC sensors are just for reading sensor information, I doubt they got anything to do with it, if you have windows, you can boot in that and cross check at what temps your fans start spinning and even tweak the fan curves to your liking.

This is perfectly normal for 900 or 1000 series GPUs.
