100 Series Boards 7th Gen Ready?

I'm looking at building a system like the following, but I wondered if I could do it with a 100 series board and only have to change an item or two to get the chip recognized. Another way to look at this is if you were buying a regular 6th gen chip and eventually wanted to upgrade to a 7th.

All the Z170 series motherboards I've seen support Kaby Lake CPUs (7th Gen), but all need BIOS upgrades for Kaby Lake CPUs to work.

That makes sense and is helpful. Thanks! I suppose in time some will get those upgrades that continue to be manufactured.
