Today I bought a Intel PCI PRO/1000GT 1Gbit nic, thinking this nic would be supported right out of the box.

Boy was I wrong in thinking that :banghead:

I had problems with my onboard card of my motherboard. It caused freezes so I installed a Realtek pci one. Great, no more crashes/freezes. Now I found out the Realtek card wont come back up after sleep. So I thought I go buy an Intel nic. Bad choice.

I have been busy trying to get this card to work these last hours. I tried the driver supplied with Multibeast, hnak's Apple Intel 1000 one. No luck. Not detected in dmesg/bdmesg.

A mod here on the forums suggested somewhere downloading a kext from kexts.com: http://www.osx86.net/view/376-intele1000e.kext.html
Installed it with Kext Wizard.app. That did not work either. Not detected.

Somebody else on the forums said go to the downloads site at intel.com and download the os x drivers from there. The intel download site points to a small company named Small-tree.com. They have own custom made/branded intel network cards. The drivers you can download from there will only work with there hardware. Tried it any way, no luck. There drivers did not work either.

So now I am clueless of where to go from here.

The chip on the nic says: 82541PI / L248LA09

Anybody tips/ideas?

10.8.4 Intel PRO 1000GT not working. RESOLVED

I finally resolved this issue.

There a various versions of Hnak's drivers. Blunt me thought there was only one.

I got it to work with AppleIntelE1000.kext, the version intended for Snow Lion:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/osx86drivers/files/Kext/Snow_Lion/

MultiBeast installs AppleIntelE1000e.kext, this one is for:
82571, 82572, 82573, 82574, 82578, 82579, 82583, ICH8, ICH9, ICH10, 80003ES2 chips.

I needed the
AppleIntelE1000.kext version to get my nic going. This kext version is for:
82540, 82541, 82542, 82543, 82544, 82545, 82546, 82547 chips.

http://osx86drivers.sourceforge.net

Thanks to Hnak's for the drivers!

Driver is working, but;

System crash after wake from sleep.

Also in the control panel I see no power management options of the device. Probably because the driver was for Snow Lion?

Coming from a realtek card that wasn't working any more after sleep (until reboot) to using an Intel card that after sleep crashes the whole system

Its time for a break from this all.
