10.6.8 update doesn't finish

Ok I tried to install the 10.6.8 combo update but it doesn't even finish... Before the update finishes I get "the death screen" (you need to restart your computer)...
10.6.7 combo was working fine, only issue I had was no full support because of the Nvidia 520 card I got in there.

Any ideas?

Common problem. Reboot a few more times and then run multibeast with system utilities checked. Should be fine.

I am having the same problem as dissectionalone in my new build but haven't tried 10.6.7 combo update yet.

My spec is
Intel i7-2600k
4 x 4GB RAM
Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD5-B3
XFX Radeon HD 5770

I've got the same problem and I just can't solve it. I have to update to 10.6.8 to get the support for my i5-2500k sandy bridge, otherwise I can't use a bootloader without crashing.

had same issue, just had to follow the guide to remove my ACPI kext and finished first try without a problem, just search your issue on the forums, theres a topic from tonymac regarding the issue!
