10.6.8 Up to 10.8.2 No Sound

On 10.6.8 working when up to 10.8.2 no sound

I had the same problem today when updating from 10.8.1 to 10.8.2

Not sure if you used/tried MultiBeast but I downloaded the latest (5.1.2), tried few times to update the audio (mine is ALC888) to no avail (several tries with reboots etc.). Then I dared myself to delete from the file location '\System\Library\Extensions' the file 'AppleHDA.kext' that I knew that my choice (without DSDT, ALC888 Legacy) was going to replace/update.

Then I ran MultiBeast audio driver as above and first appeared to not work, but on a reboot it recognised my audio device and now work fine.

I have i3 CPU, Intel P55 MB
