i5 750
Asus EAH4870 DK 512MB
G.Skill 4gb 1600 Eco
sleep works
audio works (only front out tested)
QE/CI graphics (probably openCL too)
kexts in extra/extensions:
fakesmc
LegacyHDA
EvOreboot
almost everything works good so far.
follow the install thru usb guide:
http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2009/11/os-x-snow-leopard-install-using-retail.html
step 1: I used an external usb hard drive prepared in a separate osx86 leopard installation.
step 2:
step 3: use system-specific DSDT: http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2009/12/dsdt-database-for-p55-motherboards.html
step 4: skipped this because I'll be using a disk with an old leopard in it.
step 5:
step 6: did step 4. this won't work if you have 4gb or more ram. take one stick out and return it after successful installation.
step 6.5: did this step but I think you can skip this
at this point Snow Leopard is not bootable. I tried everything to no avail and proceeded to do the bootcd method. I used iboot ATI-2 to boot Snow Leopard just to see if it will work and surprisingly it did. Completed the installation. full ce/qi with network, no sound though. I didn't restarted because I figured Snow Leopard won't be bootable on its own.
step 7:
step 8: again use system specific DSDT.
step 9: skipped
step 10:
step 11: restarted after update.
Snow Leopard now bootable. no sound. used 889 kext here to enable audio. http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=870
deleted kexts in extra/extensions except for fakesmc, EvOreboot and legacyHDA. I used multibeast to modify boot.plist, smbios and repair permissions/flush cache, didn't installed additional kexts or kernel.
Restarted a winner.
Thanks to tonymacx86, netkas and others and the whole osx86 community.
new legacyHDA edit worked (only front out tested)
iboot-ATI2 worked (final ati test version)
