Probably true but there is always a 1st time right? :thumbup:. I was being quoted £350 just to source the drive with no garantee it would work. I figure if I take the sourcing of the drive out of the equation hopefully I can bring the cost down. Worth a try right?

Agreed shipping is too risky. I'll update as to my progress. I know these things are always good to know.

Unfortunately these I don't fit the bill. My drive is a 2017 and one is 2018 one 2020 and not sure about the 3rd. Date of the drive is kinda key as from what I understand it relates to firmware.

Yeah the guys I took it to said I needed an exact copy but it's probably worth getting a 2nd or 3rd optionion. Yes it would be good if some of the UK moderators did have some knowladge regarding the drive and places to take it to. Thank for your imput anyway :thumbup:

Thanks for that. Getting to the cause of the problem is probably a bit beyond me and also the data is very important so I'd rather a pro did the actual fixing of it. As I said I'm looking for a donor so if you have any knowledge regarding that it would be great.

I've done some research and I'm fairly sure I need a exact copy of the drive. From what I understand there are drives that will work with a straight swap of the PCB but unfortunately not this one.

Hi All. So I have become stuck again. I have installed ML from the usb but can only boot from the hard drive in safe mode (-x) When I download and install multibeast and reboot it won't go beyond the logo screen. Is it a BIOS problem or is it a multibeast settings issue. Any direction is welcome.
