I got the Windows partition to switch to AHCI using instructions from this blog: https://triplescompu...ahci-operation/
If anyone else finds themselves in the same bind and finds this thread then here are the instructions:
Right-click the Windows Start Menu. Choose Command Prompt (Admin).
If...
Alas, there is a new issue now.
Now Windows won't boot with AHCI set, instead of the Optane RST thing.
Any ideas how to fix the Windows boot now?
It loads perfectly if I change back that setting again.
Yikes.
Phew! Solved.
I had installed Optane memory drivers accidentally in Windows and it kept resetting my BIOS to use that instead of AHCI. Once I removed that, and changed it back it booted like the beauty that it is.
Thanks all for the engagement and assistance!!!
Yes, it has integrated graphics though I'm using the radeon at the moment.
Shouldn't need fakecpuid now as 8700k is natively supported... Or supposed to be.
But I tried with. First one doesn't get anywhere. Second one goes bit further. But now without that fakecpuid it's going to same point...
Doesn't get beyond the initial screen which says:
OsxAptioFix2Drv: Starting overrides for \System\Library\CoreServices\boot.ini\
Using reloc block: no, hibernate wake: no
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Then it reboots.
Thanks so much for engaging. I have posted the config below.
I also made another video of the boot sequence and found some possibly relevant stuff. I have also attached a screenshot. (Is there a way to get the verbose mode to pause or scroll up or log somewhere so I dont have to deal with slo...
More information:
Attached is a photo of the Verbose mode.
I just tried to move the memory around to different slots and reduced it to single channel with one DIMM, but no difference.
I tried also to name the RAM in clover. Also tried Trust True and False. No difference. What else can I try...
I tried a Unibeast Installer with the main SSD unplugged from the MoBo. It also had this Panic CPU 0 Caller code. So it is definitely something other than just the reinstall of Windows that caused this. As I said before, it came out of nowhere as everything was booting fine. Can anyone with a...
Hi. I had a fully working dual boot with Windows 10 and High Sierra on single SSD, but due to some malware I had to reinstall Windows 10. Now my clover still shows all the Mac partition options, but none of them, not even the Install USB boot beyond the frozen apple screen. With verbose boot, it...

Well I switched the jumper and QE is working!!! (so far)
Thanks for spotting that. It would appear that you are a Wizard!
:clap: :clap: :headbang::clap: :clap:
That sounds about right then if it would load QE driver sporadically. Should I try reflashing my BIOS?
I attempted unlocking my BIOS MSR0x2 (or something like that) following instructions. Though it didn't seem to work since I still need AppleIntelCPUPM to be patched to avoid a KP. Perhaps this...
Thanks for checking. I should check this in the ioreg when qe IS working. Do you have any idea how I could fix this? It doesn't seem to be a problem in Windows 8.1- it seems like acceleration is always working there (if transparency is also a good measure in Windows, otherwise I'd need to verify...
For RealMac just use a tool called gfxCardStatus. It loads next to the clock and you can choose Integrated Only, Discrete Only or Dynamic Switching. Gives you visual feedback of what device is in use too. Find it here https://gfx.io
