Thanks.... I have a Gigabyte X99 Ultra Gaming mobo so will try and see if I can get anything working. I dont care about sound since I use a USB DAC and system stays on 24/7 so no need for sleep functions
Yeah I built a 5820K X99 box a few months ago and now with the Pascal support in nVidia drivers, I want to start working on getting this box hackintosh'ed
I ended up doing my build with a Gigabyte GA-X99 Ultra Gaming. Not sure if this is ideal for hackintoshing. I hope someday it becomes usable but for now I still have a known system that runs OS X perfectly if needed
Not sure if this counts, but I have a dual G5 mac with a bad video card that needs replacing, and a virgin, never built 2008 Mac Pro case collecting dust.
Does the cpu factor in with X99? Or is it strictly the X99 chipset and the features the board has??? I have a 5820K and wanted to know if I have the identical system as someone here but just my CPU changed, will that matter?
I have hope! I bought a 5820K (Yeah I am poor) and am getting a Gigabyte GA-X99 Ultra Gaming. Hoping this board isn't much different and can run OSX/macOS.
So I finally pulled the trigger on a i7-5820K for $319 but I am STILL lost on buying the right mobo to allow me to Hackintosh it as well as still run Win and game.
I see the recco's for mobos from 2014 but its 2016 and want to know what features are needed to make a board more compatible. I am...
After searching and reading, this mobo has made my list of potential boards to buy.... but at Microcenter near me, the board is no long available... Is it discontinued? Any other similar compatible boards?
Not to thread jack, But I too am looking to purchase a new X99 Mobo and a 5820K but am a bit lost as to which mobo to buy. I *WILL* be gaming under windows and want a stable fully working hackintosh. I bought one of the recommendation Gigabyte for my Ivy bridge i5 and had no issues but this site...
I'd have to reinstall Mavericks and try it all again... Back on my windows drive...
Basically I prep the USB key based on the instructions then I start the USB key creation process and it copies some files and just sits there and dies on step 17...
I have a perfect no issues installing version of Mavericks on my Core i5-3570K with a GTX760.
I download El Capitan, no problems. I fire up Unibeast to create the USB key and it sits for at least 20-30 min and fails. I tried multiple USB keys 8 gig and higher, and even reinstalled Mavericks...
Yeah I never was successful finding a solid How To guide... but I might try again... I have a Z77-UD5H with a Ivy Bridge Core i5 3570K, and a GTX 760
Any suggestions or people with this same setup running the newest utilities and OS??
