I changed the product name with no issues. However, I got a memory misconfigured notification when I rebooted. Also, netflix still didn't work (asking for sliverlight plugin), and although Disney+ started working in safari I decided it wasn't worht it and went back to iMac19,1 as that matches...
Sorry I was out of the loop there. I might try this - before I dive in I just wanted to ask: I'm currently on iMac19,1, will I get away with just changing the system product name to MacPro7,1 or will I need a to generate a new serial?
I just turned private relay off and tried this site again on Safari and still no dice. Looks like Cloudflare is blocking it when I use Safari but it works on Chrome and FireFox... Strange.
I was afraid you might say that! I'm using Chrome for it. And this website which is blocked if I use Safari. Something to do with Private Relay? Not the end of the world either way.
Yeah, I'm using unfairgva=4.
Actually, it does partially seem to be working.
I don't have apple music or tv accounts but free episode works with apple TV. Disney+ is working on safari (I had to get a friend to log in). I was hoping for Netflix on Safari as thats what we watch most. With...
Hi all, I just upgraded my GPU to an RX 580 - was previously spoofing an RX550, and I'm trying to get DRM working.
I read somewhere that unfairgva=4 doesn't work with iMac 19,1 which is my current SMBIOS.
Whats the reccomended SMBIOS to use at the moment for a z390 + i5-9600K + RX580?
I'd...
@CaseySJ Would you mind sharing your current EFI (for Designaire z390) as I'm still having problems with Private Relay in Ventura? I just want to compare your EFI with mine (as you had relay working). My suspicion is it's not something hack-related but I've had no luck pinning down the culprit...
This is actually not true. CaseyJS has confirmed here (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/success-gigabyte-designare-z390-thunderbolt-3-i7-9700k-amd-rx-580.316533/post-2365895) that private relay is working for him. My EFI is almost identical to his except one SSDT and a device patch for my...
My bad, it was not; I didn't have Vt-D enabled in the BIOS. I've enabled now. The patch was necessary and working.
Still no private relay (private relay is unavailable), is this the same for everyone?
I just updated to 13.3 - I have 32GB RAM but didn't need to apply the patch, ethernet and WiFi working as before...
Does anyone have iCloud private relay working?
Sorry to butt in here but just thought I'd follow up on this.
I managed to successfully install Ventura (13.2.1) by adding SSDT-Z390-DESIGNARE-RX580-SLOT2-V2.aml to my config.
I have an RX550-2GB in slot 2, which is patched in device properties using device ID FF67 so that it is recognised...
Just did it after seeing your post! All seems to be working fine - a seamless update. I haven't been able to update to Ventura though (se my earlier post and caseys follow-up), it might be my RX550 card preventing that, I have no idea.
Thanks Casey. Unfortunately, I'm not able to boot into Monterey using the config you sent (so haven't even tried the update again yet). Added my serial numbers but boot hangs at the Apple logo - verbose output attached. I've put my old config.plist back for now and all is fine - good job I...
Sorry, it looks like my first post had the wrong EFI folder attached - from a very old P8H67 build my wife uses now! Trust me, I'm not using that to boot from
Gigabyte designare z390 - Whats wrong with the EFI? I followed this guide and kept things up to date as best as I could. GPU is Different from your build (RX 550), I have the Fenvi T19 installed and an intek usb PCI card which seems to support USB 1 devices better. Im going to grab the EFI...
Hi Everyone @CaseySJ, It's been a while, no issues for a long time!
I'm trying to update to Ventura now and running into problems. I'm running software update from 12.6.3 to 13.2.1.
I just updated to the latest Monterey without any issues at all.
When I try to update to Ventura this is what...
