Cheers dude shall try your suggestion out.
I think the wrong ig-platform-id is the culprit personally with my laptop.
I am going to put a hold on my investigations as the laptop is needed by a family member who broke theirs (typical), will report back in a week or two.
OK will experiment with Enoch Chameleon, ah didn't realise that the previous beta's were not kept, not to worry just a thought.
In all honesty it sounds like I am the only one with this particular 4540s at the moment. There are a few different iterations 5ish and admittedly this was the latest...
Quite strange indead, I just reread your post and I did not try any different ig-platform-id's
Will try a few different ones to check results and post back.
Out of curiosity how would I try previous Probook Installers, all the previous iterations from the mega directory all seem to not have...
OK fresh Unibeast installer with new ML download made no difference, screen issue persists.
tried all these seggetions, unfortunately they did not have an effect.
P.S.
Now while I was messing about and experimenting I stumbled across something interesting.
If I conduct a normal ML install...
Hey Again, I have attached an IOReg Dump that I got by Screen Sharing as you said, I did not "plug-in" the HDMI for this one, screen was off for the entire process so I hope it provides you with some info.
Will update the following suggestions of yours when I get a fresh Unibeast.
Hey dude, exact same issue on my 4540s. Load screen, then black. I suspect the display output changes to the HDMI. What version 4540s do you have? Mine is the H5U86EA#ABU .
If you plug in the HDMI into the laptop then to a TV/etc the screen magically turns back on and the laptop works...
No difference, old or new AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext has no effect.
I suspect another kext is somehow, during the load up, changing the display output to the HDMI port and only when plugged into something does it re-enable the laptop display as primary. This would explain the normal load...
Hey again, I have made progress, strange progress but progress none the less.
Just to clarify, sorry if I stated things in a not-too-clear manner, still quite new to this.
Sorry I should have stated that straight after the Unibeast LM install there was no DSDT, it mentions to check in some of...
Ok I am finally back, I ran into trouble getting files off the laptop and posted via my windows PC. Anyway I have posted the old AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext that was present before the Installer use and the new one. Also my DSDT.aml , there was definitely no DSDT before I used the installer...
Forgive the delay in reply, I was having issues mounting my flash drives on the 4540s to move files about to my Windows machine, they all refused to mount regardless of file-system, got around it using MacDrive and the ML installer flash drive.
I can confirm there is no DSDT in the /Extra...
Unfortunately as soon as I use the probook installer and DSDT generator, I cannot get past the black screen after restart, safe mode is also blanked by the black screen most peculiarly.
I can try and reinstall ML and use the Probook Installer and see if I can replace...
Oh Sorry for the lack of info, HERE is the HP direct link, I will also place it in my original post for clarification. The site is wrong about the HD3000, the i5-3230M is HD4000. Screen is 1366 x 768.
For the DSDT generator I selected:
Probook Model = 4x40s IVY
Fan Behaviour = Reading Only...
Attempting ML 10.8.3 Installation using Unibeast.
So my Probook Model is the 4540s, H5U86EA#ABU, Specifications HERE (HPs website). I am quite new to this so there is inevitably something simple I have missed or don't know how to do
Basic Run Down
i5-3230M with HD 4000
6GB Ram
750GB HD...
