Running 10.10.2 I was using iMac 12,2. Now using MacPro 3,1.

Tried that. The computer just freezes during startup (no apple logo) with a white screen. I changed the system definition (don't ask me why, thought that might help) and that at least brings up the software update screen now when I'm restarting. However, my mouse cursor is stuck there.
