Clover with the old guard: GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2.0

Thanks everyone for your input on this thread -- I figured that newer development would be focused on newer motherboards and that us goodies-but-oldies may struggle ... am hoping someone with a stronger will and more free time can pave the way for this motherboard to shine again. It's still a...

Clover with the old guard: GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2.0

Hello - is anyone using Clover with GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2.0 ? My system has been great for a long time. Except for sleep issues (that is, the never-ending-sleep) and, more recently, iMessage not working. Am getting ready to move to Yosemite and would really like to get the iCloud integration...

    GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2.0 (i7-970) Sleep Issues

Thanks for the feedback; mine doesn't come up from sleep even after a short turnaround sadly. I have been shutting it down ... is just the wife complains about it not being on or having to wait for it from time to time. However: if it can't work then maybe I can come up with some conviction to...

    GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2.0 (i7-970) Sleep Issues

Hi there - I haven't posted or been trolling in ages because everything just works! This is a question for folks rocking a similar build to my own which is the grandfather: GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2.0 (FH) | i7-970. Anyone able to get it to "sleep" and "wakeup"? I can put it to sleep, but my old...

iMessage Registration error - DIFFERENT iMessage error

No luck with that method either. My mother in law is coming tonight and she has a MacBook. I'm going to try my luck on that and see if it's my Hackintosh that's been flagged or my account somehow.

iMessage Registration error - DIFFERENT iMessage error

I thought I had it! But then the error came back. What got me excited was that when I first signed in, it flipped and showed me all my linked AppleID accounts (gmail, iCloud, iPhone #) ... before, it wasn't showing me my iPhone number ... then, just when I thought I had it, the message came...

iMessage Registration error - DIFFERENT iMessage error

Thanks for that suggestion! How did you "log out" on your iPhone? Did you just un-select "iMessage" from within Settings::Messages ? Or did you do something under iCloud? Thanks!

iMessage Registration error - DIFFERENT iMessage error

Ugh. I did a full re-install just to be safe ... tried my wife's AppleID first -- logged in with no issue. Did my own: got that message again with a new validation code. Sigh. I am not sure what is going on. I wish I had another Mac Laptop to test this out with that I haven't already...

iMessage Registration error - DIFFERENT iMessage error

Has anyone else found a non-AppleCare solution to this error? This is happening on my machine and it's is AppleID specific (that is, I can use *other* AppleIDs on my machine and iMessage works without a hitch) ... and, sadly, for my primary AppleID I keep getting this message. I even...

Upgrade Steps for Chimera and/or Multibeast

Hello - so, I'm what you'd call a very Happy Hackintosh user. My system works. And because it works, I'm loathe to update anything. I'm at 10.8.3 right now. And because it's been so long I need help! I want to get iMessage working and to do that, I understand I need to upgrade Chimera (I...

What are your SSD Read/Write speeds?

I recently got a Samsugn 840 250GB drive to replace my intel one. With this drive, I am getting 245MB/s write and 375MB/s read speeds. The write speeds seem to be at maximum but the read speeds are still below par. I'm not sure what the bottleneck is and was never able to resolve it with the...

What are your SSD Read/Write speeds?

Just wanted to update you as to my progress as to discovering why my drive wasn’t reading and writing at or near its maximum potential. First, I took the drive to a friend’s machine with Windows 7 installed (along with the new SATA III card I had purchased) and the drive tested much faster...

    updating unibeast usb

I believe that is the only way (reformat USB drive, re-install Unibeast); for me, it really didn't take all that long.

What are your SSD Read/Write speeds?

I did *not* enable Trim support - whoops. I will go back and try that now and see if that makes an improvement. [/s] My new PCI card should arrive tomorrow - I ordered it based on the link in this blog post. Thanks for everyone's feedback; very helpful. I will follow-up when I make...

What are your SSD Read/Write speeds?

I can see there is certainly a problem! Wow. All right, I will look into getting this controller you mention. Thanks. Do you think I would see higher than 60 MB/s write speeds on the Intel SATA II controllers on the board that are supported? It just seems *really* slow! No Trim...

What are your SSD Read/Write speeds?

Hey everyone - recently got around to installing ML and with it a new SSD (Intel 510 120GB) that I had in another laptop. Since it's a brand new install I did want to make sure everything was flying as fast as it could but when I checked my SSD read/write speeds I was left a little sad ... but...

UniBeast wont let me install to portable harddrive?

Just wanted to confirm that this bug is still present with the UniBeast - Mountain Lion (v1.5) ... I had two USB drives mounted when I ran UniBeast (one 8GB) and it exhibited the same behavior ... after unmounting the other USB drive it allowed me to proceed.
