Having issues with USB 3 too. Same board as you mention. I've found the ones at the back are working but the front ones i.e. the ones connected on a wire internally dont work, yet did fine in Mavericks. Also having lock ups in finder accessing Thumb drives and external Hard drives.

Have you tried to boot with -v to see what errors your getting? Need more information really to work out the problem. What have you done? When are you getting this error during install, first boot after using multibeast etc?

Just checked my system report and yeh USB 3 is showing. So tried the rear ports and they work fine, for some reason my front USB 3 has stopped working. As long as the rear ones work though I'm happy!
