My mistake, I believe I had booted through the USB when I posted the first IOReg, I can only assume that is why I had a strange platform id.
I've attached a new IOReg (after booting from the HDD), as well as the config.plist from the HDD.
Thanks again!
Thanks so much! Your suggestion worked, I started with a fresh config.plist from the thread you linked me and the install went great.
I've now booted into Yosemite but as expected, there are some severe graphical glitches. I am also unable to put my resolution past 1280x1024 (it's a 1080p...
Hey Rehabman/DarkVoid
I've been working for a few hours on trying to get Yosemite running on my friend's laptop. His specs are now included in my profile, they are as follows:
Intel Core i7-4700MQ
Motherboard: W230ST
16 GB DDR3
Intel HD 4600 integrated
Nvidia GTX 765M dedicated
I followed the...
You were correct, I foolishly just attempted to comment out the lines using Sublime Text rather than booting up Xcode.
Upon your suggestion, I now have a working Yosemite install! For the record, removing Item 2 (and restoring Item 3) was required to allow me to boot to the installer. I can...
Thanks so much for the quick reply.
I have replace the screen, so I'm attempting to boot now with Item 2 removed.
EDIT: It kernel panicked on IntelCPUPowerManagement, going to try with Item 3 removed instead now.
EDIT 2: Same KP having removed Item 2 and readded Item 3.
Do you have any...
Hey all,
I'm working through this install guide and I've been stuck on a frustrating problem for a couple days now. I have a Probook 4530s, my specs are in my profile.
I currently have a working 10.9.5 install and would like to upgrade to 10.10, or if need be, do a complete reinstall.
I have...
Thanks again. I'm still met with the same issue, this time though it goes straight to beachball, not a mouse pointer.
Do you have any other ideas? Just to confirm, I'm using Mini-SSDT-Duallink from https://github.com/RehabMan/HP-ProBook-4x30s-DSDT-Patch and placing it in my...
Thanks for the suggestion, frustratingly though, the issue remains. I've copied the Mini-SSDT-Duallink.aml and renamed it to ssdt.aml and placed it in the ACPI/patched folder. Unfortunatelyit doesnt seem to have made a difference.
I am supposed to be using Intel=true in the config, yes? I have...
I've followed this guide very carefully but I'm still having an issue. My installer will boot but upon reaching the installation, I'm met with a gray screen with a mouse (which I can move) and no installer window.
I've outlined it in a bit more in this thread...
Hey all,
I'm in the process of upgrading my working 10.9.4 install (currently using Chameleon) on my 4530s.
The Probook has an i3 and HD3000 graphics.
I've followed the instructions very carefully in nguyenmac's thread "Guide To Install Yosemite on HP Laptops with Clover UEFI" but...
Scratch all that, it looks as if I have it working now.
I still need to fix the power management, networking, and sound.
I'll keep the thread update with my endeavours so other owners of this machine will be able to follow along.
Thanks for the post and the suggestions, I really do appreciate it.
I've followed the instructions but unfortunately, the system still refuses to boot. I've updated the Boot.plist as per your instructions, but the only way I can get it to boot is by using -x for safe mode.
Earlier, when I...
Ah, of course, forgive my ignorance.
At any rate, I've made quite a bit of progress - Mavericks is installed.
Unfortunately, it's presently only bootable from the Chameleon installed on the USB. I've installed Chameleon onto the HDD, but unfortunately, it hangs on the graphics as it did...
