Set IGPEnabler=Yes in org.chameleon.boot.plist and enable IGP in the bios.
Edit: If you're using a MacPro6,1 or iMac15,1 system definition you may need to patch AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext as per Problem 4 in this thread...
I started using Macs in the System 7 days and first used OS X on a white 2001 iBook that dual booted Mac OS 9.2 and Mac OS X 10.0. It was pretty sluggish.
I use an Alesis iO2 Express. Works natively with Core Audio over USB and haven't had any issues using it OOB (no patching of AppleHDA necessary) in Logic, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, etc.

I use a pair of KRK Rokit 6 via an Alesis iO2 Express interface for audio monitoring and general listening. And HDMI and TOSlink out to the home cinema.
Install the latest NVIDIA web driver from the link below and switch from the "OS X Default Graphics Driver" to "NVIDIA Web Driver".
