No SpeedStep Even After Patched Bios
Both of these worked! Love the SSDT generator. Thank you guys for all your help, I really appreciate it. Now I can run 10.8.3 flawlessly.
When booting from your Uni-beast flashdrive, at the slash screen (aka the bootloader with the apple logo) press the down arrow key and select Verbose Mode. Take a picture of the Kernel Panic and upload it here.
Well with no luck or help onsite my desperate cries remain.
I've got 10.7.5 Lion installed and I am receiving no P-States or Speed Step at all. I have patched my Bios to the latest, 1604 from here : http://biosrepo.wordpress.com/
Here is the strange thing, sleep works. I've also changed...
Clearly I had to find out for myself. Booted in Verbose mode got something like "P-state Stepper Error 18 at Step 2 in context 2 on CPU" replaced applecpupower.kext with one from 10.7.3 speedstep works like a charm.
I get all p-states too on 3,1 Mac pro. Geekbench scores are 9278 with stock...
I know I've like triple posted here but I need to defeat this damn issue. Would possibly making myself a DSDT.aml help? It seems like very few people run SB on the maximus gene V.
I'm sure you've tried this before but what if you plug it in a different USB port. You could probably boot into the External E-Drive and repair it from the 10.7.5 install.
Well, I mean sure. Good idea. Fixed.
You have any ideas?
I have tried 12,2 iMac and 3,1 Mac Pro. I heard a lot people with success on Sandy Bridge with 12,1 iMac but I am unsure since they all have Z67 and p67 mobos.
Good Morning,
I've been running 10.8.2 for awhile now using a couple of guides. (For Anyone Curious)
