I've just put together a new Kaby Lake build with these specs:
Asus IX HERO Z270
7700k
ASUS 980ti
I've created an SSDT for USB port injection. (attached)
It successfully limited OS to <15 ports. (attached)
But there seems to be inconsistent USB power to my ports.
I tested with an external HDD...
Okay.. but what about ports that don't have a port number, and have a letter instead, as I mentioned.
I should just use the numbers already listed in the SSDT-UIAC-ALL.dsl even though they don't appear to match?
@RehabMan Thanks so much for writing this guide!
I'm sorry for the basic question, but I can't find the answer anywhere.
What if the Port "number" in ioReg is something like "0a" or "0e" rather than a number like most others.
How do I write it in my SSDT in MaciASL?
Thanks so much for the well written guide. I was wondering if you'd be willing to post your SSDT for your USB ports? I have the same hardware and it would be super helpful to be able to compare mine to yours
@jktaurus8
Thanks for the well written guide.
Do you see any reason why it wouldn't work with this hardware?
Asus Z270 IX Hero
i7 7700k
Asus 980ti Strix
Were you able to resolve the nvidia driver issue? I have the same problem. Can't boot into the OS without "nv_disable=1"
If not I get this error: IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0
I will update my Installation notes shortly, but in the mean time I am stuck!
I've installed Sierra, using Storks guide for reference: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/storks-myhero-build-asus-rog-maximus-viii-hero-i7-6700k-gtx-980.197284/#Notes
I successfully installed Sierra, reached the...
Haxman's Kaby Lake Build:
Core i7-7700k - ASUS Z270 ROG MAXIMUS IX HERO - 32GB RAM - 980ti
Fractal Design - Define R4
Components
Mobo: ASUS Z270 ROG MAXIMUS IX HERO LGA1151

Thanks for the guide. Thinking about doing a similar build. Still running okay? Sounds like the install was pretty straight forward now that kaby lake is natively supported.
You could say that at basically anytime of the (tech) year and it would be true. There's always gonna be something better coming down the pipe within a years time. That's just the way it is these days.
