Ok after a lot of research I got it working (sort of). PCIRootUI=1 allowed me to hear it boot but I get no display. So I swapped the video card (a Gigabyte HD 5770) for my old XFX GeForce 8800GT and I was able to boot fine and have video. I do need some assistance now to get the video running...
