Are you saying I should not use the official update dmg and instead try to make macOS USB Installer Flash Drive and update with that one? Wouldn't that Flash Drive overwrite my current installation? I have 10.13.2 installed.

I tried SMBIOS 16,1 on X99 with Broadwell-E and things didn't go very well. Random restarts, unstable video card, lots of problems. 14,2 SMBIOS seems to be working well. I think I had 6,1 when I had the Haswell CPU.

I am using SMBIOS 14,2 , wouldn't this be better than SMBIOS 6,1 ? I tried with 16,1 since that one has official Broadwell support but the GTX 760 in my system would often randomly reboot.

I got the MSI ITX GTX 760 which has 2 display ports and is running my 2 4K displays without a problem.

Ok cool! In the end I got a GTX 760 which works just as well. But I guess the K2000 is a good alternative as well.
