So I have had the Fenvi FV-T919 forever, and, while I just got it working in Sonoma, it just isn't very fast anymore. The big selling point for me was that it "just worked" out of the box but that's no longer the case with Sonoma. So, if I'm going to jump through hoops anyway, I may as well get...
I got mine directly on amd.com. They do weekly or bi-weekly drops at MSRP now. Get a auto-refresh extension and do every 30 mins, have the window always visible on your desktop and be ready to act quickly.
This code refactoring and the fact it's not working is actually encouraging, that means they're actively working on it.
"Macs require macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 or later and compatible AMD graphics card"
Emphasis on compatible. It's still reliant on drivers, it's just an external enclosure.
Guys... there's not going to be functionality changes between a beta and a RC. New features are introduced in betas, RC's are to validate them and make sure they are bug free.
Maybe 11.3 beta1 will include it but there's nothing unexpected here.
Hey @andyxm715. I got OpenCore 0.6.3 to work but my CPU is constantly at near peak core frequency in Intel Power Gadget. The CPU should throttle down to around 2.2GHz when nothing is using it but instead it's always near 4.5GHz. Are you seeing this in your setup as well?
Thanks for the OpenCore starter pack. I'm having issues with the latest version so if you upgrade to latest OpenCore and Big Sur please reply here so we/I get notified of the update :)
RX 580 working perfectly here on 10.15.4. DRM in Safari and all.
/edit iMacPro1,1 profile, IGPU disabled, latest (compiled) Lilu & WEG.
/edit2 I can't say how pleasantly surprised I am by this. None of the other Catalina versions worked for me so I put off upgrading until now.
Has anyone been able to get RX 5xx cards DRM (Safari) to work in any version of Catalina? I keep trying every version and then reverting to Mojave when it eventually doesn't work.
/edit Nevermind, everything works GREAT in 10.15.4.
I too am waiting for this to be fixed. For now, if DRM in Safari is as important to you as it is to me, you can use 10.14.6. That's the last version where DRM works for me with my RX580 using the iMacPro1,1 profile.
I compiled the new WEG but is it working for anyone?
10.15.2 + RX 580 + iMacPro1,1 with same config I had in Mojave (where it all worked) and nada. If I even navigate to Netflix.com in Safari my computer freezes hard.
