Hey, just got off the road from work, i'm going to try this reinstall, sorry for no response for awhile.

Damn, I've already reinstalled twice. Say i dont want to completely reinstall again, what route would I take?

oh and i still cant get it to self boot, I need iboot every time, should i go into my bios and change to hard drive or should multibeast have taken care of these things?

Still not working jester. Would a after market audio card help? I need one either way, I am in film and audio editing, any suggestions on cards that are compatible?

Completely re-installed and i'm still having the same issue, this is really bugging me.

Oh and in system preferences, under audio the "line out/ line out/ line out/ line out," makes sound but its pretty horrible, you can faintly here my music in the background and weird repetitive sound on top of it.

So in my "about this mac," section under the audio (built in) it says "intel high definition audio" and "audio id: 889." I still do not get sound, any clues whats going on with that?

Yeah, followed your instructions step by step and it didnt not work unfortunately. any other suggestions?

Oh, and since we have similar systems maybe you can help me. I cant seem to get it to self boot, no idea whats going on with that, any suggestions?

I'm giving it a try, but which audio kexts should I delete. I deleted applehda.kext, hdaalc889.kext, any others? I was straying away from things like appleUSBaudio.kext or midi kexts, should I get rid of those as well or no? I'm assuming no.

so thats not working. I deleted all the audio kexts out of my library and followed this step by step and still no sound coming out. any ideas?

I'm not running windows on this machine :/ I'm assuming I have the right ones via custombeast and multibeast. How would one check? Sorry, kind of a first timer. Also one other issue, it wont self boot, I need iboot to get it going. Any idea on this? Thanks for the reply, I'm having a hard time...

GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3 with snow leopard 10.6.8 is what I have and so far has been working on pretty well with slight issues here and there, only issue I have noticed is that not all of my usb ports seem to be working. Any idea what the problem may be? Thanks in advance and cheers everyone.

So i can not get 889 to work on snow leopard. I've posted a few times so maybe I was a little bit vague on what I have already tried. I ran multibeast, selected the 889 kext that is included, no dice there, I had a custombeast made, ran that, no dice there. Read another thread that has you go...

So I have the: GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3 LGA 1155 ran multibeast, then I ran custombeast and everything seems to be working ok except two things, most of my usb ports wont work and the audio is not working. Any suggestions? Is there something in multibeast I can go back and install by itself to...
