Hi Stork, i have the same board and have completed installation.
Everything is fully working, my only question here is that when I install HWmonitor I cannot see the temps for my CPU, only drive temps are visible, I cannot turn the fans down on my build.
Fake SMC and all kexts are installed, is...
Which is the reason for my original post.
And posting the pictures of the referenced lines of code, I don't understand what its not too happy with but maybe someone else does.
To be fair it sounds like your reply's just keep quoting what I've been asking for help with in the first place, I'm...
I'm attempting to create the SSDT-NVMe-Pcc.aml.
I have the ACPI path of the drive and thought this was the correct way to inject the class-code to use with HackrNVMeFamily*.kext which i've placed in EFI/Clover/kexts/Other & S/L/E.
Am I on the wrong path?
I'm on the the path of patching my samsung 960 Evo, hitting a few bumps along the way but certainly learning.
I have created the kext and installed and am now trying to patch the DSDT which was obtained by F4 on boot, even if I hit the compile button with no changes made to the clean DSDT I am...
Did you encounter any errors with your time in Maciasl.
Currently my progression has halted with 3 errors preventing the compile.
Theres one thing that i know for sure.. I'm calling it a night!:banghead:
Thanks you for the reply, I'm working from a pretty much complete build.
I have my main drive with osx on backed up to my server which is restored through my windows setup in case of trouble.
My plan is to work with my old drive and when I can make my 960 evo visible I can then clone the working...
Did you manage to get the patch to work, been trying for a couple of days and having no luck.
Created the the kext from the 10.12.3 plist, inserted it into kext util but upon restart the NVME section of my system report wont find the drive still, Bios does though.
I'm having the same issue guys.
I can move the spinner until mouse click then it disappears, can't understand what its unhappy with but i can install El Cap with no problems.
Yes, followed the direct update guide.
Installs El Cap with no hiccup, double checked my Bios settings too but everything seems in order.
Created a new installation usb to be double sure and also tested another USB port.
Mine is doing the same, I used terminal to create the installer, hangs 3 quarter of the way with spinning beachball.
Then installed El Cap successfully to do the update method but when i reboot to the Sierra installer it gets to the exact same point with the spinning beachball.
Screen doesn't...
Really weird how fussy it is, mines pretty similar at the moment.
Not found a fix as of yet, our boards I think are exactly the same except that mine has the thunderbolt on the back.
When I bought the board I wasnt aware of thunderbolt 3 usb-c so assumed that the thunderbolt was the 2nd...
Thanks for the reply , I've actually inadvertently fixed it.
Except for one problem that is, when the system wakes from sleep its all crackly and i have to reboot to fix it.
I've been trying to suss out why Geekbench is only seeing my 16gb Ram as 0mhz, I ran cpu-z in windows and realised that...
Just wondering if anyone has had success with the Gigabyte ga-z170-ud5-th with the ALC1150 on El Cap.
Bought this build because of the thunderbolt and wanting to connect my clarret pre sound card however the thunderbolt is actually the usb-c variant, which I wasn't aware of when purchasing...
