Hi there, Onboard audio works using the alc1150 kext in multibeast :) Hope this helps! Good luck :)

    ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition

Hey Necox, Did you get up and running with a patched kernel? I'm wired throughout the house, and having wifi running is purely aesthetical. I'm not working on any solutions on my machine until 10.9.2, though I'll be looking at opening up for full AC support in the future :) I'm not...

    ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition

Sounds like you're not running the patched kernel? If you're running ivy bridge-e, you need a patched kernel (until 10.9.2 comes out) If you are, another way to check in verbose mode is to record video with your phone. At least then you can see the last lines. Good luck :)

    ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition

Hi Cylar, Wifi is seen as a bcm4360 (as attached kext), which is added to IO80211Family.kext, and device ID added to the plist. Wake on wifi, Airdrop and all wireless modes including AC are supported (as attached screenshot) At the moment, I'm using a basic dsdt with minimal patches...

    ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition

Woops! I mentioned something and my post was denied! I said too much! lol :P I didn't use a guide for the install, but I'm guessing it wouldn't be that much different than using the Rampage extreme guide and just adapting it to the new components. I used "something else" for the install, but...

    Building a CustoMac: Buyer's Guide January 2014

Article: Building a CustoMac: Buyer's Guide January 2014 Hi Tommy, You can still build with the 4930K, you just need a patched kernel and it works perfectly. Tony and Macman won't put this in the buyers guide until it's vanilla. There's talk of it being supported vanilla on 10.9.2...

    ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition

Hi Jaraheel, So far I haven't had any issues with my build regarding kernel panics or freezes. After installing new kexts, I find I have to rebuild the kernel caches through terminal manually though otherwise chameleon doesn't use them. My current build is as follows, I will be upgrading...

    ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition

Good to see you got out of the kernel panic! The bcm20702a0 entry in IOregexplorer is the bluetooth. I'm not sure what that is in System info, maybe its the wifi? The wifi is a bcm4352 I think? Which I just found a version of bcm43xx.kext and, using the same solution as before - adding...

    ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition

Okay, I'm back with onboard bluetooth working. Steps: ENSURE YOU HAVE ALREADY INSTALLED THE UNIVERSAL USB3 KEXT FROM MULTIBEAST I have noticed that a reinstall of this kext may affect bluetooth install, so ensure its up and running first. Be sure to delete...

    ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition

Edit: I believe the Bluetooth and Wifi is a combo, from the bcm43XX family. There are a few websites touching on this install. I'll be trying to reinstall my bluetooth tomorrow. I'll let you know how I go :)

    ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition

Hey all! Wow, a lot has gone on since last time I was on! Sorry work has been crazy. Good job to those who all have a working RIVBE hack! I only have a gtx570 at the moment which worked OOB, my next upgrade will be 2 x gtx 770's. Haven't tried hdmi audio, as I'm using optical audio...

    ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition

Hey Jaraheel, Other than a hacked kernel for ivb, networking works with intel1000.kext from multibeast (unless you want WOL, I just bought a 8168b instead). Onboard Bluetooth works by adding device id to iobluetoothfamily (can be flaky, so used a io521) wireless was a device Id addition to...

    ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition

Yeah! So excited and honoured to own such a beast. I have one issue now though, installed something which messed up the bluetooth - can't get it back! So for now just installing an iogear 521 until I get time.

    ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition

This board is definitely bada**! :P If you haven't gone insane either waiting for it's release, or waiting for it to ship - with a bit of jigging, all onboard components work flawlessly on Mavericks.

UniBeast: Install OS X Mavericks on Any Supported Intel-based PC

Thanks Tonymac and Macman for all of your work over the past few years! I just wanted to confirm success using Multibeast on the Asus Rampage IV BLACK with a 4930K (via kernel patch) and 64gb Ram!! All onboard hardware works flawlessly including audio, ethernet, wifi, bluetooth and USB 3...

X79 with Ivy Bridge-E not working

Hey guys, I'm looking around for this too, for a new build. I haven't started putting it together yet, but during research I've found the kernel won't support ivb-e until AFTER the new Mac Pro is released, due to Apple wanting to control the specs until release. I have however seen that...

OSX compatibility - Maximum RAM per DIMM?

Hey all, First of all I would like to thank Tony and co. for all of their absolute inspiring and brilliant work over the years. I have so far completed 2 hackintosh builds, and now looking at my third (and final for a while) beast, which none of would even be near possible without this site...
