Monterey 12.2.1 updated perfectly in System Prefs > Software Update ... normal reboots as part of update process.
Z390 AORUS Pro Wifi, 9700K, RX580, Titan Ridge TB3, Opencore 0.7.8
Thanks heaps that's a good one - the issue I'm having at the moment with the included EFI folder (with the 19,1 Vega Config.plist) it's doing the black screen thing when booting from the installer USB. (The screen is on but displaying black, not flickering on/off).
I remember I had this issue...
Ok some interesting things to report back.
Swapping the old Alpine Ridge card for a new Titan Ridge card worked straight away without needing to connect the brand new card to Windows and install drivers/firmware.
I'm not sure what that means in the search for trying to get a way to install...
Damn!
I threw that TB3HP file in there, and checked the others were present ... but it's still behaving the same way.
Essentially every second boot, everything works perfectly ... and every other boot, it's completely missing from the System Profiler!
I'm guessing that a Titan Ridge card...
Thanks @psedog and @elfcake ... I'll check what other files I've got in my EFI drive as well.
iGPU is disabled I believe, but I'll triple double check that too.
Yes, I figured hot plug didn't work (it never did in Sierra with my 270 board either) but at least I could turn it on at a specific...
Firstly - thanks heaps to @CaseySJ, @blouse, @psedog for your great discussion, guides and tips (and other threads!).
I've been Hackintoshing for as long as it's been a thing, but everything keeps changing so rapidly it's tough to keep up!
I'm on the GB Z390 Pro WiFi with an Alpine Ridge card...
Most Thunderbolt stuff on Hackintoshes doesn't support hot swapping at all, and as per my original post the only way to get it to work is to power it up on the BIOS screen.
I have 3 UAD devices on the one TB3 bus and they work perfectly - just gotta turn them on at the right time.
Ahhhh I sat down to boot the machine up into OS X this morning and the damn thing is working.
So for Googlers - that's a UAD Apollo 16 MKII on Sierra 10.12.6 on a Z270X-UD3. The system definition is actually iMac 14,3.
I have NO idea how that happened, but the last steps I took were...
I'm trying to get a UAD Apollo unit to work in 10.12.6 Sierra on my Z270X-UD3 motherboard with Alpine Ridge add-in card.
I can get the unit to show up in Windows 10 (I did a firmware update as well) and it communicates with the software in that OS.
I can't get it to display in OS X.
I wonder...
Wow - thanks @zipb ... this fixed the problem for me on my Z270X-UD3.
Clover Configurator was generating:
<key>FixShutdown<key/>
<true/>
But I needed to manually change it to:
<key>FixShutdown_0004<key/>
<true/>
For what it's worth, I'm actually on Sierra 10.12.6.
I have a UD3 version of this series, but all USBs are working ok.
I used @jktaurus8's great guide (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/updated-for-multibeast-9-2-1-and-sierra-10-12-6-sierra-on-200-series-with-kabylake-processor.218494/) and completed these bits specifically:
Dunno if you've...
Thanks for the response @pastrychef ... yeah I've actually tried swapping between the Nvidia and native drivers (by disabling it in Clover and double checking in the Nvidia control panel that it's disabled) and the same thing happens.
Black screen regardless of Nvidia Web or OS X native...
Correct - I give the system the shutdown command from the menu and it seems to shut down, but a few seconds later it powers up again.
I've done some subsequent reading and it appears the Nvidia Web driver can cause shutdown issues for some.
Are you using the Web driver?
Sorry to hijack your help thread @clsanchez77 ... but I have a similar scenario to your most recent one.
I have Sierra 10.12.16, a GTX 650 and a Z270X-UD3 Motherboard.
For the life of me I can't make the system definition 18,X without the black screen. It is obviously booting because I can...
Thanks fo the response!
I'm on 10.12.6 Sierra with the Z270X-UD3 and yep I've got the F7 BIOS. Everything is excellent other than the shutdown thing.
I've got a GTX650 and I thought it ran great on the native Nvidia stuff, but I found a few graphics bugs in a program I use and switched to the...
