in 10.8.3, AMD 6870 is hotter than 10.8.2

I have an Apple-branded 5870 and also have the same high temperature at idle, 61 degrees, with 10.8.3. No sure exactly what it was in 10.8.2, but I do not believe it was this high or I would have noticed it.

    Disabling Dual Monitor

If both your monitors are the same resolution, you could simply set it to "Mirror Displays". If the monitors are different resolution or you want to minimize any performance hit, you can use the paid utility SwitchResX from http://www.madrau.com/indexSRX4.html. It allows me to specify...

    Virtual Machines

I am not over clocked. Yes, GraphicsEnabler in my org.chameleon.Boot.plist is set to Yes. I am not sure if it is needed since I am actually using a genuine Apple ATI 5870 card but since I have not had any problems, I have not altered it. Could this have anything to do with Fusion or Parallels...

    Virtual Machines

I am running 10.7.4 on my Gigabyte Z68XP-UD5 machine with an i7 K2600 3.4 GHz processor without any significant problem. However, when I try to use either Fusion or Parallels, the performance of the virtual machine is glacial. Yet Virtual Box works reasonably well, although not as good as it...
