Hello,
I would like to ask for some tips/advice on changing my smbios from iMacPro1,1 to iMac19,1 headless setup. This is due to the fact that I am now using h.265 more often with Davinci Resolve and in my current smbios iMacPro1,1 h.265 is practically unusable.
I am already aware of some...
Hello! I hope someone can give me advice on a Bluetooth issue. I want to use my PS4 wireless controller with my system but unfortunately, it cannot be detected. I know it's not the controller because it can be detected by my Macbook Air and and iMac.
So I bought a Bluetooth dongle...
Hello! I have OC 0.9.1 and Ventura 13.3.1 and using the built-in Intel Bluetooth, not Fenvi. I am trying to connect my PS4 controller wireless via bluebottle but Ventura is not able to detect it. Otherwise, I am able to connect other Bluetooth devices like the Apple Trackpad, Apple mouse...
@maeluse
If I understand correctly, if you enable the Kernel Quirk "DisableIoMapper" then Wifi/Ethernet will work.
Also, I think Ethernet is only affected if you are using a Thunderbolt for Ethernet. And even if you are, @CaseySJ suggested using his Aquantia macOS patches, assuming your...
@CaseySJ
I installed Windows 10 only the other day so I can confirm that I followed exactly all the steps.
I checked my OC EFI partition and there is no Microsoft folder, it's only on the Windows EFI.
In the OC/EFI Boot folder, there is only 1 file.
I searched for a solution to this problem...
Hello @CaseySJ
Yes, the QNAP T310G1S is an Aquantia device (in Windows, it uses the AC100 driver).
Yes, Windows has its own partition, and referencing your reply to @maeluse my Windows SATA SSD has its own EFI partition and I did disconnect/removed all other drives when I installed Windows...
Hello @CaseySJ
Regarding my question in my previous post on how to boot Win10 from OC, I saw some old posts from August 2021 where the solution is to disable VT-d in the BIOS and DMAR or disabling AppleVTD.
You wrote that AppleVTD is optional unless using a Thunderbolt device that requires...
Hello!
I installed Win10 on a SATA SSD, and it went well. I am able to dual boot to Ventura and Win10 without any major problems. I just have a few questions:
1) When booting, is it possible to start Windows from the OC 0.9.1 picker? When I tried to do this, Win10 is not able to start.
2)...
@CaseySJ
The installer works. It's now on the setup page where I can choose to run Disk Utilities and it was very quick. So at least it's not continuously scrolling.
@CaseySJ
The installer starts but it continues on and on exactly like when using 0.9.1 EFI. So yes, it cannot install Monterey.
I haven't tried this yet. I will do it now.
@CaseySJ thank you for all your help.
I tried creating a Big Sur installer with the OC 0.8.3 that is currently working on my system and the installer worked. I was able to install Big Sur.
But when I tried exactly the same except this time with a Monterey installer, the problem with locationd...
Hi @CaseySJ
In fact, most of the log messages are from com.apple.xpc.launchd and not locationd
I searched a bit and most of the problems associated with launchd is that it gets stuck there, but my issue is a continuous boot.
I tried to boot from my SATA SSD and I still get the same problem...
Thank you! I will just continue to play around with the installation.
Is it possible to use createinstallmedia on a SATA SDD? I'm thinking of trying to boot from the SSD to do the installation. So, from Big Sur instead of creating a USB install, the target will be a SATA SSD and then put the...
@CaseySJ
Nope, unfortunately not. I'm using the built-in Wifi and BT of the Z490 Vision D. In fact, you solved the BT problem for me. And now I'm trying to turn on the Wifi on the Z490 Vision D but also having problems. :)
@CaseySJ
Yes, I have. I also tried with the network card removed and it's the same.
But it's unlikely to be a firewall issue because I was able to install Monterey and Ventura on another machine just a few days ago. In fact, you also helped me with that but it's in the Z490 Vision D Thread. I...
@CaseySJ I've tried creating the install disk in 3 different machines... on my MacbookAir, on my hack running Intel running Ventura, and on this same machine with Ryzen running Big Sur and OC 0.8.3. On the last, I then removed the PCIE SSD leaving only a formatted SATA SSD and the USB install...
@CaseySJ Yes and yes.
I even tried the OC 0.8.3 with the Monterey installer. The same OC 0.8.3 that I use to boot up Big Sur which works, but with the Monterey installer, the boot log just keeps on going just like now with the VEntura installer.
@CaseySJ
It's just scrolling. It was also like this with the Monterey installer before, using the updated OC from 0.8.3 to 0.9.1 made by Hackindrom, and before we updated the Kernel patches.
I think, it took 2 hours and then it restarted and then it kept on scrolling for another hour before...
