    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Honestly I was well aware of this warning, but I don't need the Thunderbolt ports and everything else has been fine until 11.5, so I didn't think this could have been the cause of my problem. Probably add some extra warning in Post 1 so that people who don't use TB may also pay more attention?

Uptime has been 4 hours and still good. I'll report back tomorrow, but it appears promising so you might want to give a try too.

Thanks. I didn't realize I could downgrade bios by simply flashing the older one. After switching to F9i, the USB errors in dmesg disappeared, and the system (11.5) has been up for 2 hours without freezing. Looks good so far, but will report back if the problem reoccurs.

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I run into the same issue with 11.5. Random freezing regardless of load. Sometimes a few minutes after login, sometimes 1-2 hours. Clean re-install of 11.5 also froze. I used a 11.2.3 installer and succeeded, left overnight and didn't freeze. Upgraded to 11.5 next morning and the symptom...

I use Gigabyte 5700 XT Gaming OC. With iMac19,1, sleeping seems to work fine. With iMacPro1,1, it wakes up immediately after going to sleep. Freezing after 5-6 minutes idle happens to me too regardless of SMBIOS. Disabling WEG fixes it (i believe someone else previously mentioned this too).
