Did you try to install bootcamp5 on windows? https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1638?locale=en_GB (run the .msi in the drivers/apple folder). Not sure that will help.
Have you checked the following settings on the BIOS for thunderbolt card.
Another update: My Thunderbolt Display audio and camera working again like before. There was a problem with my SSDT-DTPG.aml (it was named as SSDT-DTPG.aml.aml). After correcting the name all the components on thunderbolt work again now with hot swap. :)
I am attaching the EFI again.
After the installation of drivers in windows 10 I never needed the windows partition again. In fact I scrapped my windows disk many times and the thunderbolt devices were working all fine, albeit without the hot swap.
So maybe if you wanna try something why not install a windows disk (you can...
Yes that's windows part for installation. To enable Thunderbolt Display on windows I had to do the steps I mentioned above. This also enabled the thunderbolt display and storage on Mac side for me.
If you do not have that then please neglect.
I installed this driver on windows (https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GC-ALPINE-RIDGE-rev-20#support-dl-driver) and also drivers from bootcamp5 (https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1638?locale=en_GB). Extract the bootcamp zip and navigate to Drivers/Apple -> run the .msi as administrator. Let it...
Oops.. yes cross message :)
I have attached an Apple thunderbolt display on 1 TH3 port via th2 adapter. I then daisy chained two more storage devices from display. One thing I just found out, since the SSDT the audio and camera is not working anymore. It was working without the SSDT even though...
I did set the BIOS settings of No security and force power. I think these are needed anyway whether it's built in or not. Nothing was done via windows except I only downloaded the windows driver from website of gc-alpine ridge and installed. But as the card is visible for you then windows now is...
@madmarkdj I could not find any details of your thunderbolt card in the IORegistry extract. It seems the system does not pick the card. Is the card connected to the thb port on the motherboard and you have followed the gc-alpine ridge guide for all the connections?
@madmarkdj you can try these files
If you upload your IORegistryExplorer extract I will try to modify it for you.
My card is same as yours but it may be in another slot. I just had to change the name of the slot where the card is installed. The slot is identified as a 4 character string.
@CaseySJ followed your posts on other the other thread to edit the aml and now my hot swap works :)
I can also see the pcie card in system info. The file without change did not work.
thanks
Did you connect the DP port of the graphics card to the mini-DP port on alpine ridge? Also you need to connect the THB_C port on the motherboard with the card internally.
For the first time I installed the thunderbolt driver from the alpine ridge website on my dual boot windows disk. I...
