[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

Thanks. Under the graphics config. section I've tried switching from iGFX to Auto and to PEG, but still can't get into the BIOS when the card is plugged in. EDIT: Installed Big Sur succesfully using the iGPU, when trying to boot with the card plugged in - the ROG start screen just hangs there...

[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

Guys, I'm stuck. Managed to get my hands on a brand new 6800XT today and trying to upgrade my Hack. First problem I've hit is I can't get into the BIOS with the card plugged in, smashing the F2 / Del key just doesn't work. The card is powering on and driving the display okay. If I disconnect it...

[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

No idea where you're based. But for people in the UK; since yesterday Overclockers have a fair bit of stock, Scan as well, but less stock. Overclockers prices are around £1200 for a 6800XT, £1700–£2400 for a 6900XT.

[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

Great news! I knew it'd come eventually, and I knew I'd regret returning that 6900 back in Jan. Look forward to hearing how you / everyone gets one :)

[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

Totally feel your pain man. The software I use is stable enough for now, so I can keep going but I'm missing out on things like DaVinci Resolve Studio 17. Lets just hope the upcoming 27" iMac rolls out in Q3, I think that will be a good proposition for us. Fingers crossed. Looking at the...

[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

Same boat as you. I am a pure Mac user so no need for Windows. I built a hack in 2018, the first one and probably only one. Reason, for around £3k I could risk building a setup that would outperform what Apple could sell me at that time. Previously I'd buy a new iMac every 3 years. But my work...

[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

At this time I see no incentive for Apple to rush to support these cards other than to offer MacPro 7,1 upgrades. Given they are clearly working hard on the AS rollout, and the time it usually takes for them to integrate new GPU tech, I would argue stable macOS driver support is way off...

[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

I can relate to that. Mine just showed up, it really is an insane amount of money! Buyers remorse has set in already, tbh I may well return it. Definitely the wise thing to do. Feels like could be several months before the drivers are included. I can't see the new first gen M* iMac or 16"...

[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

Cheers fellas. The 6900XT is on the way so I’ll stick with it for now. I probably should have been more patient and waited for full MacOS support. The supply issues seem to be getting resolved somewhat now as well. Thanks, I did come across that. Those Davinci engineers seem to do a sterling...

[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

Looking for a bit of advice. I’ve been buying Macs for 20 years but in 2018 I decided to build a Hack to get more performance for my money. I wasn’t wrong, the machine is still a great workhorse. But I’m stuck on High Sierra and the new versions of apps I use daily are almost all incompatible...

Hackintosh Reboots Randomly With Graphic Intensive Use

Just throwing this in here: I started having similar problems with PP and AE after installing a PCIe SATA expansion card and x3 HDD’s. Turned out that my PSU (650w Seasonic FOCUS Gold) wasn’t powerful enough to cope with all my power hungry hardware. During heavy use, the CPU/GPU spikes kept...
