I somehow got my installation to load. I made a lot changes from multiple sources from Google searches and over the weekend I will try to trace back all the changes I did and come up with a something definite and reliable for reinstallations. I will note my EFI worked when I was trying Catalina...
I have been testing various device-id and framebuffer combinations and nothing has worked so far. Do you mind sharing the values you used for your config file?
Same results.
Two questions:
1. From where can I get the values to try for the framebuffer and device-id?
2. Is there a way to change the framebuffer and device-id on the ssd after installation (so as to avoid reinstalling the OS each time the values need to be changed)?
You are correct about the SMBIOS. I tested with MacbookAir9,1 and got the same result.
My monitor is 1080p (I wish I had a 4k haha). I am currently using the HDMI port because my monitor does not support DisplayPort. I do have a DP-male to HDMI-female adapter that can be connected to the box...
Your config.plist did make things seem to go faster but I still got stuck at the same point (01.jpg). I then used the correct -igfxdvmt flag and still got the same result. I let it run all while I slept hoping that maybe there would eventually be progress but 6hrs later the screen was the same...
I have some results to report. The EFI that successfully load mac os recovery and installed Catalina is attached. However, when booting the installation (from ssd) the gui is not loading and it is getting stuck with what I assume to be a GPU issue. The CoreBox has one hdmi port and one display...
Before I got your igfx response, I had booted one of the EFIs I had saved a few days ago (from a Big Sur installer) and it booted Catalina into recovery. It is still installing; I will post result when it is completed... or panicked
I have gone through the OpenCore guide and I do not see any references to makeinstall.bat
A google search led me to https://github.com/corpnewt/gibMacOS, which does have makeinstall.bat
Is that what you are referring to?
Yes, I followed the guide and the I added the kexts to EFI after createinstallmedia. I added kexts recommended by guide at first. At this point I have removed the ones for bluetooth, wifi, and smcsuperio.
I removed SMCLightSensor.kext and AirportItlwm.kext and then I got an error for bluetooth (01 bluetooth.jpg)
Next I removed IntelBluetoothFirmware.kext and IntelBluetoothInjector.kext ; result was a SMCSuperIO error (02 smcsuperio.jpg)
I removed SMCSuperIO.kext and then got errors about...
I have a Chuwi Corebox Pro with the i3-1005G1 processor and UHD graphics, 12GB RAM. This is my first OpenCore build and I have followed Dortania's guide for Ice Lake. I used MacBookAir9,1 SMBIOS info. The installation is getting stuck with "itlwm: taskq task_add iwx_newstate_task add to queue"...
I am still running Mojave on my 7010 and I have been waiting to see how other people have dealt with the Catalina upgrade. Did you run into any issues during the upgrade?
