<< Solved >> Sudden Boot Stall on Long Time Working System

OK! Scrapped FakeSMC.kext and 4 related sensor kexts. Used clover to update/overwrite Lilu.kext, WhateverGreen.kext and VirtualSMC.kext. And it booted straight in. What's more, I was able to power down from the apple menu for the first time since this whole fiasco started! I've got other work to...

<< Solved >> Sudden Boot Stall on Long Time Working System

Thanks a million for that! Cleaned it up but still no boot. I have a FakeSMC.kext in my library/extensions - see attached file. And there are other SMC kexts as well. Should I update all? Or should I erase them because of the VirtualSMC.kext in my clover? Thanks again for your patience.

<< Solved >> Sudden Boot Stall on Long Time Working System

Still can't get in today. Have the day to troubleshoot so was hoping that someone might be able to read the verbose screen above. I'm wondering if a kext is corrupted. Any help is welcome. Thanks.

<< Solved >> Sudden Boot Stall on Long Time Working System

So upon restart, my system stalled again. I've tried restarting a few times and no go. At least it's a new error screen now (below). I've included my updated EFI. Hope someone recognizes the issue. Thanks again

<< Solved >> Sudden Boot Stall on Long Time Working System

Another update for folks following along. I was able to get my usb ports configured using this guide: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/a-beginners-guide-to-creating-a-custom-usb-ssdt.272505/ I've attached a picture of the ports that I registered and the .aml file in case you have the same...

<< Solved >> Sudden Boot Stall on Long Time Working System

Update and question. So after I deleted that code from my plist, everything booted as it should for a few days but then I ran into the same stall (see above pics). I got to work on the USB port configuration. I followed the directions to the letter and was able to boot back into my main drive...

<< Solved >> Sudden Boot Stall on Long Time Working System

Just an update for anyone searching this problem. I removed the code from my config.plist using clover configurator. For the first time in over a week, my system boots up without issue. I still can't power down without it restarting so as soon as I catch up on missed work, I will try to...

<< Solved >> Sudden Boot Stall on Long Time Working System

Bad news: I'm frozen during booting again. Good news: I have a new message this time. I tried to research but I think that I might not be reading the verbose screen right. Hopefully, someone here recognizes it. I've enclosed the whole screen and a close up again. Thanks again in advance.

<< Solved >> Sudden Boot Stall on Long Time Working System

New day - new struggles, lol! Fired up the computer today and everything worked perfectly. Then I powered down... It refused to shut off and just restarted. ...and we have the stall again. I'm pretty sure that it's the same as above so I just took a picture of the closeup. I hope that you can...

<< Solved >> Sudden Boot Stall on Long Time Working System

Thanks again. I was able to fix the BIOS. I got back in but when powering down the computer restarted automatically. I tried a couple more times with the same result and now I can't get back in. The BIOS is at least consistent now. I've enclosed the new verbose stall. Thanks so much for all of...

<< Solved >> Sudden Boot Stall on Long Time Working System

Thanks for your quick reply. That did the trick and got me in. Weird that my bios was already set that way - why would it just randomly change that setting? Now I have another problem. I restarted to make sure that it was fixed and now it won't make it past the initial splash screen. I can't...

<< Solved >> Sudden Boot Stall on Long Time Working System

I've been using my system successfully now for about 2 years with Mojave (El Cap prior). The other day, on boot up, it stalled on the Apple screen (no progress bar). Research here told me to tick USB Ownership and Injection. I did and that rectified the problem for a couple of days. Two days...

    PSA: Gigabyte F20B BIOS changes

Had to go back to F6. Thanks to hugheba for this: It was harrowing as it stalled at a flashing cursor and I had to shut down after about half an hour. Regardless, it worked so... back to 400+ boot options :/ Lol!

    PSA: Gigabyte F20B BIOS changes

Hi. Recently upgraded my graphics card from internal to a gt 730. Got it working fine but noticed that I was almost at 400 boot options in my BIOS. I flashed to F20 and have had trouble since. I've tried all of the options mentioned here but am still just reaching the apple logo, pausing for...

[SOLVED] MultiBeast Error - El Capitan on a GA-Z170X-UD3

*Facepalm* I've spent the better part of a day searching for this info. Need to get better acquainted with this forum I guess. For anybody who happens to stumble upon this (in the wrong place - sorry): The Multibeast 8.2.3 certificate expired on 18/01/21. Just set the system clock before that...
