A Windows question & Apple drivers

Re: A Windows question Ok, thanks! I guess I was a little confused about how drivers work (still a noob at this stuff)

A Windows question & Apple drivers

Ok, so I'm currently running a wonderful hackintosh with OSX Lion and no problems, thanks to all your help and advice! I know this might not be the best place to ask for help on this issue, but I thought I'd try: I just installed Windows 7 on an extra hard drive I had laying around, and at...

DSDT Database Questions: Gigabyte Socket 1155

Ok, so this may be a dumb question, but I'm currently running on a GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3 board with the F5 version of the DSDT, and I have no problems (at least not that I know of). However, I'm pretty sure my BIOS version is F9 (which wasn't in the database when I built my machine). Is it worth it...

    Enabling Firewire Z68MX-UD2H-B3

So as many of you already know, the motherboard I'm using (Gigabyte Z68MX-UD2H-B3) doesn't have any firewire ports. At first, this was no big deal: the main external drive I use for video editing has an eSata port as well as the two Firewire 800 busses, and I just used the motherboard's built...

Erasing the "Installer" partition after installing Lion

One more question: if I erase and merge the partition, will I be running the risk of deleting the other part of the drive? It's the boot drive, so would I need to create a bootable backup first?

Erasing the "Installer" partition after installing Lion

Ok, so I installed Lion 10.7.1 with the xMove method, and everything is running fine. I'd like my 8GB of SSD space back, however, so can I just erase the "Installer" partition in Disk Utility, or will that create a whole mess of problems? And if I can erase it, can I merge it with the rest of...

Need help with HDMI audio ga-z68mx-ud2h-b3

Hrm, scratch that. Computer went to sleep and lost its sound when I woke it up. Rebooted twice, still no sound. However, it does recognize sound devices, and it allows me to set the volume level, which I wasn't able to do originally.

Need help with HDMI audio ga-z68mx-ud2h-b3

Ok, so I followed that other thread and got my sound to work, though not through HDMI. I'll take it though; the onboard speakers in my monitor aren't going to sound any better anyway. Thanks so much!

Need help with HDMI audio ga-z68mx-ud2h-b3

I used the iBoot method to install OSX off the 10.6.3 dvd, then immediately upgraded to 10.6.8. Then I ran multibeast and checked "ALC889" for my sound. Wondering now if I should delete that and select "ALC8xxHDA" instead. Or maybe I should just upgrade to Lion and figure it out from there...

Need help with HDMI audio ga-z68mx-ud2h-b3

I've been having trouble getting my audio to work, and haven't seen any posts related to my motherboard. I haven't had any luck with HDMI, and I haven't been able to bypass that problem by using an 1/8" audio jack either. The computer doesn't recognize any output or input devices in "System...
