    Dell Optiplex 7010

My 7010 is an i7-3770, so I can't help you on graphics. But following the main guide and booting from UEFI, everything but sound worked on the first try. I got VoodooHDA 2.8.8 from Sourceforge, and found a video guide on YouTube for getting iMessage to work. I don't put the box to sleep, in case...

Working Hackintosh right out of the box! Amazing!

In that case I can just put it in the 790 box I got originally and make that one a Gentoo install.

I have the same Optiplex and card, but the video card had a dead fan, so I pulled it and went with the onboard HD 4000 graphics instead. That seems to work okay so far. Are there any advantages to running the card instead, besides freeing up that RAM?

Easy. I had access to another machine running Sierra, and did the USB stick setup from there.

Working Hackintosh right out of the box! Amazing!

After a good night's rest, I found a YouTube tutorial to get iMessage working. About the only thing that needs any attention is the pop from the stereo when the sound driver kicks in. But I'm fairly sure I'm just going to have to live with it. Got it running to my Technics SA-600 receiver and...

Working Hackintosh right out of the box! Amazing!

Well, more or less. It was a bigger trick just to get this system to power on when I got it home. I started plotting a Hackintosh build after seeing the $70 build video on YouTube. Turns out WVU does not have a surplus store open to the public. But Pitt does. A whole stack of surplus Optiplexes...
