I did manage to follow Defrag's description, but the original Assets.car file is 3.6MB and the xcode generated is only 1.4MB, so something is missing.
This is what I ended up doing :
Install ThemeEngine from https://github.com/alexzielenski/ThemeEngine/releases
cd /Applications/Utilities/System\...
After upgrading I had the flicki
I had the same problem and solved it by:
Changed from iMac18.2 to iMac17.1 and increased the video ram in bios.
Now everything works perfect again, but still see two HD630 video cards in system information.
I am trying to install High Sierra, and initially the kernel panicked, but that has been overcome by turning off 'Intel Rapid Storage Technology'
Now I get a bit further but the system hangs on attached screen shot.
Please share some ideas to the reason.
Thanks for the suggestions.
I picked the first from the iMac 17.1 'pick list' 0x1912000, and the system works like a dream.
Very nice simple system:
In Win Chopin case, include 150W power supply
Asus Rog Strix Z270i, onboard video
Intel i5 7500
16G Kingston HyperX Fury
Samsung NVMe 960 EVO M.2...
I am newbie and have followed this link and loaded Sierra 10.12.5 on the same hardware.
The post installation has been done with MultiBeast 9.1 and that fixes network, sound, USB problems but not the video.
