Hey, many thanks for the writeup! Also, I'm about to move to Ryzen, and dualboot it with Win. Thumbs up man! :)
What's the hickup with the USB devices? Does the computer not sleep at all?
I suspect you missed the APFSLoader from your Clover install. Happened to me too. Clover can see the drive up until it is HFS, and then the installer formats it to APFS and if you don't have the loader, Clover won't see the new drive.
Hi RehabMan and All,
I am trying to understand a few different things here all at once.
My mobo has:
ASMedia 107x hub (4x USB 3.0)
Intel with 4x USB 3.0 and 8 USB 2.0 ports.
Since there are a lot of ports I don't use I disabled them in Bios.
USBInjectAll - would let me see ALL of the ports...
Thank you RehabMan!
Will use the thread to document what I do, and add it later to my Z87-Plus Mojave guide here:

Following RehabMan's guide here...
Hi All,
I have not yet worked with USB that much, Sierra seemed to work out of the box, but I have issues now under all 3 OSes.
I have now disabled all unused USB ports. My ASUS Z87-Plus has Intel 3.0 and ASMedia 3.0, as well as like 8 USB 2.0 ports (also Intel I think).
I only use 2x Intel...
Ok, I think I changed some bios settings while having my Sierra, and that is when it started to happen. I have turned off EHCI hand off and checking if it makes a difference.
Guys, will this go away with a proper USB config build? (custom ssdt or the likes?)
Scanning with IORegistry Explorer I can confirm that the mouse reconnects when I notice a lag during using the computer.
It was not a problem for like nearly 2 years on Sierra, but then it started out of the...
Hi, I have an Asus Z87-Plus, and struggling to get USB fixed now both under Sierra, High-Sierra AND Mojave too. Any change u still have that 3rd party kext? ;-)
It took me numerous tries to get my Mojave installed (it is a fresh install).
I created a dozen different USB sticks, could not get them to boot, so I used a USB WD passport external HDD. Created a 15 gig partition, and then Unibeast 9 did the job. It was a lot faster than the USB sticks too...
I think I nailed it down to USB issue. My pendrives suck under Mojave, so I started digging and found IORegistryExplorer. It would mark green devices attached to the system for about 5 seconds, and mark red the ones you disconnect.
If you re-use the same USB port multiple times, it would list...
yea, I got to know that from the forum, but neither were there, so after Mojave installer's first reboot I was left with no boot devices to choose from, only and empty clover menu :-/
I would add, that APFS efi was NOT on my installer, no matter how I tried, so I used latest version of Clover after creating the USB installer and made sure I had all efi drivers (Aptio fix and apfsloader) so that Mojave could install.
To further explain
Here are the kexts that I use.
FakeSMC, Lilu with AppleALC and WhateverGreen, and in my case the MoBo has the Intel 1000 LAN port.
$ kextstat | grep -v com.apple
Index Refs Address Size Wired Name (Version) UUID <Linked Against>
16 0...
Hi, what other kexts do you use and what .efi files do you have in your EFI partition? Please list both folders, I think that would be useful. For me Aptio fix solved it, I also had the End RandomSeed +++++ hang before adding that driver.
Dear All,
With the help of the community, Tony and Toleda I have a working Mojave fresh install.
I was wondering though, if I could improve stability by loading only drivers I really need.
From Clover there are numerous boxes one could tick / un-tick but for someone like me (only partially...
Hi All,
Is anyone experiencing the same? I have Mojave with 10.14.1 update and opening App Store freezes the machine.
It did twice, both times few sec after I opened the app. Will try re-creating the issue, see if I can confirm
