That did the trick! You saved me :D
I did the following to bring back my USB ports:
Booted HS with bootflags: "kext-dev-mode=1 -s"
Entered fsck –fy and after that mount –uw /
After that: sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions && sudo kextcache -u /
And: reboot
After that everything worked fine...
Ok I'll give it a try.
I still don't get why everything worked before installing the web drivers. I obviously used my mouse and keyboard to install the drivers...
Thanks for the answer!
But how am I supposed to edit a plist without being able to boot macOS? If I boot the recovery partition in order to get into terminal my USB devices are not found either...
edit:
my USB 2.0 ports don't work either by the way. Not sure if the port limit is the issue.
Hey guys,
I installed High Sierra and everything seemed to work fine. I followed Storks instructions in post #2 to enable SIP (0x0), install the web driver and disable SIP before rebooting (0x3). After rebooting none of my USB ports worked anymore :(
In the clover bootscreen and BIOS everything...
Oh my god... I solved it...
I was so sure it had something to do with the CustoMac that I did not check the normal things first.
After turning off the two safari extensions I use (1Password and Adblock Plus) everything worked fine!
Turns out the Adblock Plus slowed down Safari and switching to...
I actually fooled around with my intel iGPU a few weeks ago but gave it up because it caused a few problems.
The iGPU is deactivated in the BIOS now and I unchecked "Inject Intel" in my config.plist.
Hey guys,
my CustoMac is nearly perfect but I can't figure this one out.
When using Safari it takes forever to load websites like youtube or amazon. The pictures and stylesheets appear far too late. Additionally there is a small lag when typing fast like on an old iPad where the text appears a...
I do not really have another monitor but I can try my TV. The reason I haven't tried is that the problem is gone as soon as I boot windows.
I'll also try a different cable.
Thanks for the ideas!
I still had "inject Intel" turned on from fooling around with Airplay Mirroring. Turned it off and disabled iGPU in BIOS but the stripes still appear...
Other ideas?
Everything worked great for 3 days but the issue reoccured yesterday and today.
Same problem: After boot I have no network connection -> replugging ethernet solves the problem.
Any ideas?
Hi,
my CustoMac is running great but I can't seem to get rid of one annoyance.
On an irregular basis a white stripe (about 1 pixel high) appears on the right side of my screen for a split second. It is more like a short flicker. I have yet to find a way to reproduce it on purpose. It seems...
Hi guys,
about every second time I boot up my CustoMac (macOS 10.11.2) my ethernet cable is not found. After pulling it out and plugging it back in it always works again. Internet working fine after that with no problems. I don't know why this only happens from time to time.
When booting...
