Hello,
I am trying to follow any basic guide for getting iMessage to work, but it's not so much iMessage that's the issue here: it's Clover Configurator. I Hackintosh'd this computer, using Unibeast for the flash drive and Multibeast for the post-installation configurations; I did NOT do...
I first posted on this thread maybe a year ago; and, in this time, there STILL seems to have been no fix for this issue. Some months ago, I got fed-up and bought an RX 580 8GB (with which I'm very satisfied).
(And, in case anyone wonders if it may just be a Hackintosh-related issue, know that...
Yes, it's an issue with OSX drivers—not hardware. I wouldn't go with ANY 10xx card, actually, because they all apparently have issues of their own. Now, while said issues with other 10-series cards are merely minor ailments in comparison to that which plagues the 1060, they still should warrant...
Well, the deed has been done... in the fall, I gave up on my GTX 1060 and ordered an RX 580 8GB (which works beautifully, I might add). Around the time this thread began, I was able to contact NVIDIA support and properly convey the issue to them; they were able to replicate said issue in a lab...
Oh, yes - definitely. In fact, I've been active on a thread here which addresses the issue. I chimed in and noted that my own Mac Pro's GTX 1060 is suffering greatly with its current drivers. I actually contacted NVIDIA directly and described the issue. To my surprise, they collected my...
NVIDIA seems to have finally released a Mac driver for the reason that so many Mac Pro users are still relying on the traditional tower (2006-2012). The 2013 cylinder was a total failure and is receiving a complete re-design. In the meantime, NVIDIA has been kind enough to supply drivers for...
I am currently away from my desktop, but I am anticipating a possible fix for the graphical issues experienced by all owners of GTX 1060s.
This BETTER have fixed it. I just want to wake my machine up and have it work without my having to re-log every time.
I think a couple are on 1050Tis as well. Seems as though the only safe 10xx cards are the 1080s. I've even heard of certain issues on 1070s, but they are separate issues. The 1050s and 1060s seem to share this specific issue.
UPDATE:
I had e-mailed NVIDIA again because I hadn't heard from them in a long time. I got a response from Ray. Unfortunately, progress is slow.
"Our development team is still investigating the issue but unfortunately not much progress yet. We were able to easily replicate the same glitches...
Interesting... I wonder if direct connection to DP has something to do with it. Alas, I have no monitors which use DP. My main is plugged in with HDMI, and my 2002 23" Apple Cinema HD Display (when used) is plugged in with DVI.
Oh, I did not know that someone else was also talking with NVIDIA! I messaged them whenever it was when I first commented on this thread, and they were able to replicate the issue on their machines. Seemed promising, but then I saw no signs of driver updates for at least a month.
Now, it hasn't...
Update: it has been a while now since I talked with NVIDIA support and got them to replicate the glitch on their test machines. I am presuming that a driver update should be coming with the release of High Sierra, but I was still curious to know if they would be releasing a driver sooner: I've...
Agh! I was hopeful for a second. Perhaps these new drivers were just quickly pushed out for the sake of keeping up with the OS X updates. I'm guessing that they're still working on a 1060 fix. (Although, I am still disappointed...)
To add to this: I am using HDMI for my main monitor and DVI...
Yeah, thankfully this issue is common (only in the sense that nobody is in the dark with it). I internally freaked out when I saw my screen spazzing out. It was actually worse for me with driver #2. Some of my applications had the effect of a flickering CRT display. I'm glad NVIDIA now knows...
I had asked Ray about whether or not the issue that they replicated was in data form or if it was observational. He told me that they noticed basically what we have been noticing on our systems: slowdowns, graphics corruptions while navigating through the UI, etc.
Very reassuring that they are...
