Must be something else. I tried ML 10.8 on Intel 520 120GB. "Install Sucessful" but reboot shows same results. Spinning color wheel (cursor) on grey screen. Nothing else. I tried swapping sata cables and sata ports. Still no go.

I had the same problem last year using Snow Leopard 10.6.8. I did a Snow Leopard reinstall and just did the Combo Update 10.6.7 which has the App store and was able to create a new Apple account, login, purchase and download Lion from App Store. That's the only thing that worked for me. good...
