I was playing with this for a little while and the best option for me is having this set to:
$ defaults -currentHost write -globalDomain AppleFontSmoothing -int 2
And having the LCD smoothing set to this: http://i.imgur.com/6esB1Fu.png
The icons now look crisp and fonts is easy to read and...

Hello guys, I have recently successfully installed el capitan on my main machine. I have a feeling that fonts aren't rendering properly on my hackintosh. I have attached some screenshots. Edges seem off to me. The edges are much cleaner on a macbook.

Yes after reinstalling it one more time I made it work. The trick is: after you are done installing the nvidia web driver you do not click restart but rather open up clover and add nvda_drv=1 to config.plist, If you don't you're greeted with black screen after apple logo.

I was able to boot without my screen going to sleep by adding nv_disabled=1 to the boot args and uninstalling nvidia web driver. Now it boots fine however i am stuck with 1280x1024 resolution on a 1440p screen..
