[Guide] El Capitan on the Skylake H170N-WIFI

Yosemite doesn't support Skylake processor, so I believe you can only use El Capitan

Yes, 01. Your first entry looks funny thou, u might want to check with others to see if thats ok. Edit: Maybe check out the thread http://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-remove-extra-clover-bios-boot-entries-prevent-further-problems.175274/ to see if anyone had removed all entries before and...

I'm sorry but the screenshot you post doesn't look like the "bcfg boot dump" screen. In any case, when you type "bcfg boot dump", you should see all the entries, and each entry has something like "Option: 00. Variable....". The number you need to take note is the one I bold. After u deleted all...

I'm not sure how you remove the entries, but you should leave the actual physical entries there, only removing the non physical ones. As for the adding of entry, take note of the highest entry number after you "bcfg boot dump". Then add your new entry after that number. I'm pretty sure the...

Yes you have to follow MacMerlin's way if you have the same issue. The BOOT is a folder, and its in the EFI.

I'm a newbie too =p The step by step instruction is on the 1st post of that guide. You type the commands in Clover command line, where u boot into clover rather than OS X. As for the post by MacMerlin, I faced the same issue as him/her, where my system has the BOOTx64.EFI rather than the...

[Guide] El Capitan on the Skylake H170N-WIFI

This is the problem that I posted earlier in this thread, and how I solve it. "Multiple EFI entries in BIOS. Please follow this link to fix this issue http://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/g...boot-entries-prevent-further-problems.175274/. The #53 post by MacMerlin on page 6 helps a lot for my...

Are you using a separate graphic card? My monitor is a 2k monitor, and it's using a dual-dvi cable from GTX950. You might want to check which port of your monitor support resolution above 1080p (some monitors doesn't support >1080p over HDMI). The selection should be "automatic"

There are some slight difference, at least for my Z170N Gaming 5 board compared to ammulder's H170N Wifi. I'm comparing the port number with his SSDT file. For e.g., my board's m.2 card port is at 0d while his H170N is at 08. And furthermore, Z170N Gaming 5 has a USB 3.1 port while all USB ports...

I didn't use the SSDT for my Z170N board as their USB ports are different. Right now all the USB ports, except the USB 3.1 port, are working somehow using the USBInjectAll kext

Hi FastRedPonyCar, for your RAM, set it according to what it is. For my Crucial Ballastix 16GB RAM, they are 2400, so I put 2400 on both ram. I remember I did not tick the dual channel option, as ammulder guide doesn't specify that. Not sure if I'm correct, but I do get both RAM showing up and...
